In a galaxy far far away is not so far after all. Self-driving cars have always been seen as a fantasy of some sci fi movie that we watched as kids. You won’t have to wait much longer because the future of self driving cars is upon us. The new Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion research car is an innovative way to travel. It frees the driver to interact with passengers and not risk getting into an accident.

Autonomous cars will be socially accepted in the cities of the future providing a workspace or retreat to passengers while arriving at their destination. This new level of mobility will be combined with social and technical changes that will add value to society by changing the way we travel. With the new luxury-class interior concept, mercedes car of the future will be more than just a way to get around, it will become a workspace and or area of retreat in overpopulated cities where traffic is a big issue traffic. “Anyone who focuses solely on the technology has not yet grasped how autonomous driving will change our society,” emphasises Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head ofMercedes-Benz Cars. “The car is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport and will ultimately become a mobile living space.”

The electric hybrid system in the F 015 has a total range of 1,100 kilometers, including around 200 kilometers of battery-powered driving and around 900 kilometers on the electricity from the fuel cell. These low emissions enable the F 015 Luxury in Motion to cover longer distances similar to those of a diesel powered car, but purely on electric power with zero local emissions.

Although we do not carry any self-driving Mercedes you can always visit our rent mercedes section and ride in luxury today.
